The Higham Active Retirement Association was formed 22 years ago (2003), and is a very friendly club for people over the age of 50 who are either semi-retired or retired.
We are affiliated to the Kent Active Retirement Association (KentARA). And HiARA members can take part in some of the additional activities KentARA organise. Please go to KentARA page to view their latest news. .
We are a non profit making organisation whose aim is to foster friendship which will contribute to the mental and physical well being of our members with the aim to ensure a full and active retirement..
We meet every Friday afternoon in Higham Village Memorial Hall between 1.30-4.00pm.
For our Friday schedules, please see latest newsletter.
We also have a very good rambles section, details of latest walks can also be found on our newsletter.
We are a community of like-minded individuals who enjoy socializing and participating in fun activities together. Our club was founded in 2003 and since then we have grown to over 120 members. We organize events such as Day Trips, Holidays and Social Evenings and more. Our goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can feel comfortable and make new friends.
Our year runs from end April to end March the following year, but you can join the club at any time within that year. Renewal fees are reviewed every year by the committee.
YOU CAN COME TO THE CLUB AND SEE WHAT WE DO FOR 4 WEEKS FREE OF CHARGE, NO MEMBERSHIP OR ACTIVITY FEE.
If you then decide to join the club, you would need to fill out a New Membership Form and you will be charged the annual fee, plus £1..00 on each activity day you attend. .
